“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. The two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.”
Another good passage to share. I often hear that when you believe in Jesus Christ, there are no more battles to go through and you can live however you want to live just because you have that belief. There’s a lot more to that. Life is full of battles. This passage speaks for itself. Every day, evil and sin fights hard to consume us. We have to be strong enough to say no to their sinful natures and follow what the Lord says and does every single day.
There is no such thing as level 1 sin or level 50 sin. Nothing is too big or too small in His eyes. All sin is still sin in the eyes of the Lord. Even the small office gossip that we all think occasionally as no big deal. That’s not true. We have to get rid of the mindset of “Oh it’s just a little gossip”. It’s still sin and evil nature feeds off on that. Whether it’s gossip or murder, all of it matters! Think before you say. Follow God’s word daily.
Good and evil. The constant war since the beginning of time. How unfortunate.
Let’s be obedient. Saturate your life im the word of God. Go to the roots of His tree, not just the surface. If you follow His word daily, your life will be better. I know this for a fact in my own life. Every struggle I go through daily, I read the Bible. And my life changes for good. So, study your sin enemies and try to understand what the Bible wants you to do to overcome the battle.
Separate yourself from the corrupting influences. Don’t bring them home. It will consume you. Yes, I understand that we need to have proximity with them, but they can’t and won’t influence us. The Lord is strong within us.
Kick out the Devil. He doesn’t belong anywhere.
Patience is in everything. In love. In trust. In life.
We are often running around rapidly. We are so focused on reaching that destination at full speed. Slow down. Good things happen to people while they wait…patiently. God doesn’t want us to always rush and constantly be on the move. I know it’s hard to just sit back and breathe. I still struggle with it a lot.
For example, when you’re driving, many people are speeding up and often showing recklessness just to reach a destination. The constant honking when others are driving too slow for their own satisfaction. It’s insane! I get it. Life is crazy. But, it’s just not worth it especially in a moving vehicle. We are NOT invincible.
Slow down. Have patience. Wait.
We miss out on many blessings and the enjoyment of the little things that life gives you if we keep rushing.
Being impatient often brings a lot of anxiety. At least it does for me anyway and that is never good.
So, I have a challenge for you today. Slow down. Breathe. If anything comes just at least one minute longer than you anticipate, let it be. Take your time. Trust. Have faith in the timing. Enjoy the ride.
Another Monday has come! Hurray! I will praise any day I get, no matter what.
If you’re thinking that you’re stuck in a rut, day by day, doing the same ole things over and over again, you are not alone. I felt that way too. But, there’s no point in feeling that way. That feeling of being in a “rut” means security and that is hard to come by with a lot of families. Most likely you are working the same job every day and providing food and shelter for you and possibly your family. That’s amazing! You are doing a lot! Many people don’t even know where their next paycheck will be coming from or even how they will get their next meal. Take a look around. Are you going to bed hungry? What about your kids? Do you live in a home or on the streets? Chances are you are reading this on a fancy smartphone, tablet, or laptop. You are fine then. You’re doing great. Focus on the simple things of life. Appreciate the little things. So, I challenge you today to get rid of that ‘rut’ feeling. You don’t need it. You have most likely plenty of love and security around you.
Look up and enjoy what you have. What you are complaining about, someone else is praying for.
This week’s Bible study will be in the book of Ruth. Another glorious chapter to feed the soul.
“And again they wept together, and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-bye. But Ruth clung tightly to Naomi. ‘Look’, Naomi said to her, ‘your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods. You should do the same.’ But Ruth replied, ‘Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!’ When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she said nothing more. So the two of them continued on their journey. When they came to Bethlehem, the entire town was excited by their arrival. ‘Is this really Naomi?’ the women asked. ‘Don’t call me Naomi’, she responded. ‘Instead, call me Mara*, for the Almighty has made life very bitter for me. I went away full, but the Lord has brought me home empty. Why call me Naomi when the Lord has caused me to suffer* and the Almighty has sent such tragedy upon me?’
Would you agree with me that this is a dark one for today? Grief is a powerful emotion. Many things are often tied to unresolved grief issues.
Grief and loss is definitely the biggest change there is. We never understand. We often get angry at God about why it happened and we may never know the answer. But, just remember, there’s a lot we never know what God is working on. He will always be ahead of everyone. Trust him still with all your heart even during the darkest times. He knows and understands your pain and suffering. Afterall, the most famous words in the Bible are “Jesus wept”. He knows the pain and suffering. Trust him that something will come out of it.
Life is full of changes. Learn to cope with life’s changes by accepting God and trusting Him fully. Changes are abound to happen. It’s human nature. You may not like it, and I’ve been there more times than you would know. It’s really tough! It’s definitely tough to accept change. What makes it easier is by putting God at the center of your life.
Life has its ups and downs. Never give up. Focus.
Do you know another language? Either fluent or at least know a few conversational words other than your home language. It’s so fun to learn different cultures. We’re all so completely different; it’s exciting to dig around what and how others go about simple things.
For me, I know a bit of Spanish (2 years from high school) and a few bilingual acquaintances that help me remember words 😊
I recently gotten myself interested in American Sign Language. I have always been fascinated by the deaf culture and finally was able to start learning a few years ago. It’s so fun! I’m still learning more and more this day!! I’m addicted (hehe).
Learning a new language is tough and takes discipline, but that goes with learning anyway! Any kind of new knowledge is difficult. The key is sticking with it. The age old “practice makes perfect” saying is real!
Learning new languages is a form of art also. Think about it. You’re learning a beautiful new thing – no matter what language it is!
So, go out and embrace this beautiful world! So precious!
It seems like the weekend just started!! Oh well, got to be grateful for any day we get. Another day of breathing while many people took their last breath before. So, embrace what you have! Enjoy the simple things that life gives you. Don’t let all the negativity talk affect you. Be strong. Remember your strength and what you’ve been through. We’re not getting any younger.
Every day is a new day. Every week is a new week. Be the person who you’ve dreamt of becoming.
Be kind, be courteous, be respectful.
Happy Monday y’all! 🙂
There’s a lot of negativity around just by looking at the news alone so I understand the struggle im remaining motivated and positive. I’ve been there. But, just never give up. Always have that hope inside you. Always have the mindset that better things are yet to come. You are stronger than ever before! You have gone through many battles and conquered them all. Don’t let anyone take that away from you. Keep doing what you’re doing and shine on with positive vibes. Darkness never wins.
Remember who you truly are.
Keep your chin up and shine on!
